For the grace of God is at work in us, it’s because we are walking in weakness, and it is what makes God to answer us. (He doesn’t despise the broken and contrite heart). 

Truth is, once weakness is working in us, grace works, and sin can’t have dominion over us. A Christian who continues in sin is a strong “guy”, for where weakness is, grace is lavishly given, and where grace is, sin can’t have dominion.

Brokenness(weakness) in us is measured by God, not us. Anytime He sees we’re truly broken and weak He answers by His grace supply. He may require us to do something to get us to the point of brokenness, but that thing in itself is not the criteria to receive from God, nor is it brokenness nor weakness in itself, but God knowing us, knows how to get us to our zero level. 

For at our zero level, when we are broken, shattered, weak, we are ripe for God’s greatest display of power in us. For when we are weak, then we are strong, God’s grace is made perfect in our weakness
